Invited by Shenzhen Accessibility Promotion Association, professor Zhou Xuyang from Research & Construction Center of Accessibility in JSCVC participated in the development planning of barrier-free urban areas in Luohu District of Shenzhen City and the expert review of accessibility assessment on October 18 and 19.
Shenzhen, as a model city and a leading demonstration area for the construction of barrier-free environment, has launched multiple measures in the construction of inclusive development of barrier-free cities. It is a pilot city on the sustainable development agenda of the United Nations. Professor Zhou Xuyang believes that the barrier-free urban planning in Luohu District of Shenzhen is at the leading level in China in terms of system concept and plays a leading role in demonstration. The planning, design and construction of barrier-free environment at Baoan International Airport in Shenzhen are all in one. According to the international advanced experience and practice, the barrier-free gene is displayed everywhere, the function and allocation of the city are promoted scientifically, and the concept of humanistic care and sharing in a new period of social construction is created.
Professor Zhou carried out an in-depth discussion on the development plan of the barrier-free urban area in Luohu District and the content of the barrier-free environment assessment of Bao 'an International Airport. After learning about the advanced practice, he has further enhanced his research capacity.
